Hello Amigos!

Hey guys! I’ve been working a lot of behind the scenes work for some wonderful things coming down the pipeline for us both!

I made this fun card as one of the first cards after I received my Copics. I’m excited to finally be sharing it.

The Scene

I used some Recollections 110 lb. card stock from Michaels for my Copic coloring, just because I had not gotten a chance to order any other paper and I did not want to wait. I did some two color blending with the Copics so I could test out my blending skills. I stamped the Three Amigos from Mama Elephant. I love all of the sentiments these critters can use of their little signs. It makes them so versatile

The Background

I colored the background with my mini-distress inks in the colors Peeled Paint for the grass and Tumbled Glass for the sky. I tried to keep them light in color so it didn’t distract from the Amigos and their messages of “You’re awesome”, “Really”, and “What they said”.

I also die cut “Hello” from the sky and a scrap piece of patterned paper. Then I inlaid the patterned paper where I cut on the sky. This makes a cool look that isn’t too tall to fit in the envelope to mail.

The Details

Everyone knows I like sparkles, so I covered the signs that the Amigos are holding and the Hello in Wink of Stella.

I’m so excited to send this card and I hope the person who receives it is happy and surprised!

Some of the supplies (most) are listed below. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

And as always…

Birthday Card for Christin

I was able to make a birthday card for my niece who just turned 11. I made a cute little scene with Mama Elephant’s Ella and friends blowing some bubbles. The whole scene is Copic colored and the stamping is done in some Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, which is Copic friendly. I added some Wink of Stella to the bubbles for some interest.

I added the whole colored scene to the front of a standard A2 top folded landscape card with some double sided tape and stamped “handmade by cindy” on the back of the card with a Memento Dew Drop.

For the envelope, I stamped the three solid bubbles in the set randomly on the back and covered them with some Wink of Stella to tie them in the design of the card.

Thank you for stopping by to see the card I made. I hope you enjoyed. If you would like to see the supplies I used, I have some listed below and links. I hope you’ll come back and see me again soon!

Thank You Note

Who doesn’t love receiving a cute thank you note? I know I love seeing them, even if it’s for the little things.

We received a cute Easter book for Erin from a member of my parent’s church. She loved it. She wanted us to open it right away for her and read it. I was touched by the generosity so I wanted to be sure to thank her for her kindness. I colored a bright little fox next to a hand sketched flower. The little fox is holding a sign saying “thank you”.

This stamp set is from Mama Elephant (Three Amigos).

I also covered the colored sign with some Wink of Stella to make it pop. Then I added the colored piece to a piece of 4.25in by 5.5in rainbow striped pattern paper from my scrapbooking stash. Then I added the whole front to standard A2 top folding landscape card.

I kept the envelope pretty simple by just stamping a couple of the little images that came with the stamp set; a pencil and a crumbled piece of paper. I did this in three different colored inks from My Favorite Things dye ink.

Thank you for stopping by to see another one of my projects. I’m so thankful for all of the support I’ve received so far! If you’d like to see some of the supplies I used, you can find the inks below.

Happy (belated) Easter and Spring!

I love making cards for friends! I had an awesome opportunity to create some cards for some family and friends. I went with a Peeps theme with some cute stamps from My Favorite Things.

I used some pastel card stock I had in my stash for the card bases. I dry embossed some simple flowers on the front from a Cricut embossing folder. I did the sentiment inside of the card with some dye ink so the focus would remain on the cover of the card.

The peeps were stamped with dye ink and then stamped with Versamark ink so I could emboss the peeps with glitter clear embossing powder, so they look like they have sugar on it. Then I embossed the sentiment on the front with some Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing powder. IMG_4533

Since I was going to be mailing most of my cards, I created some fun envelopes to go with the cards. I stamped the peeps in a nice rainbow effect and covered them with some Wink of Stella, so they’d shimmer and match the peeps on the card.

I hope you enjoyed a peek at the Easter/Spring cards I sent. If you would like to see the supplies I used, I have them listed below.

Joann’s Haul

I’ve been working to beef up my craft room because crafting is so much more fun when you have the right tools. I’m definitely not saying you need everything out there, but having some essentials on hand is so helpful!

I hit an awesome sale at Joann’s where all of the paper crafting supplies were 50% off! Score!

Entire Haul from Joann’s

I knew I wanted some Perfect Pearls pigment powder. I will be playing with some watercolor techniques and spraying techniques in the future. This will give my water for these techniques that perfect pearl shine.IMG_4557

I have some of the basic colors of embossing powders in my stash, but there have been a couple on my wish list. They were the following colors:

  • Pink
  • Liquid Platinum
  • Enchanted Gold

Can’t wait to try all of them out!

I’ve been looking for interesting embellishments. I think Stickles may help bring some different looks to my coloring. I got some basic colors:

  • Platinum (to match the Liquid Platinum embossing Powder)
  • Glam Pink
  • Star Dust

I would like to start adding dimensional embellishments and I originally was looking for some enamel dots. But why have a limited amount of them, when you can create as many as you want from a bottle? My thoughts exactly. I’m trying out the Paper Pen to see if I can get some good dimensional interest for my cards. IMG_4562

I have been loving some of the spray backgrounds recently. I’m think of getting some re-inkers to add to these mini misters or using them with water and the distress backgrounds. Who knows?

Every good card needs some good envelopes. I got these basic white A2 envelopes and I have been decorating them to match the card designs. The possibilities are endless.

I also got some water color paper that is cut to 4.25 by 5.5, which will be perfect for a card from. Can’t wait to get out some watercolors and play!

No crafting area is complete without an area to work on. I got craft mat, which is a non-porous area. It’ll be great for coloring, blending, mixing, and doing all sorts of fun crafty stuff on. Plus is will protect my desk. IMG_4566

Last but certainly not least is my collection of Mini Distress Inks. I also chose the tins to store them in to keep my workplace tidy, but they also stack very nicely.

Below are all of colors available online at Joann’s: IMG_4567 IMG_4568 IMG_4569 IMG_4570
